Happy home chemical free

I have always been interested in natural products – those that Mother Nature provides us, as opposed to harmful manufactured, chemical-laden products where the side effects are unknown or some are known and still used.

Over 80,000 new chemicals have been created in the last 50 years.  Only about 200 have been tested for their impact on human health.I wonder why we have so many children with allergies, behavioural problems and autism spectrum issues as well as problems with infertility in both men and women nowadays.  I believe our chemical overloaded environment has a lot to do with it, and also the food we eat.

My aim with fruit and vegetables has been to help people eat healthy at all times.

And now my aim is to help you reduce the amount of chemicals used in your home so your family has a safe haven to grow and thrive in and be happy and healthy.

My search for this has led me to a Norwegian company called Norwex. Their aim is not only a chemical free home but also creating less waste to go into landfill etc. Their products save time and money and help improve the health of our homes and environment. I love their mission statement.

The global Norwex community is committed to providing educational resources and supporting charitable projects that address growing concerns about harmful chemicals, plastic pollution, and environmental issues.

I only promote products I believe in and use myself and I am thrilled with these products – they work exactly the way they say they will and many products come with a 2 year warranty.

Their flagship items are microfibre cloths that clean just about everything in your home either dry or just using water.  Yes, that’s right – just using water!  Some of the cloths have a product called Baclock™ which is antibacterial so you don’t need to buy expensive chemical disinfectants.  There is a cloth for nearly every cleaning job in your home including your pets and car (and yourself).

norwex-tigerI’m also using the washing powder, which contains no phosphate or fillers, and our clothes are clean and bright.  It has no perfumes either (I don’t like to smell my washing powder!) which is great for people with sensitive skin and babies.   It seems to last forever too as you only need a small amount each wash.

I am allergic to dust mites and found their mattress cleaner removes organic matter (not going to go into details about this but do you know what you share your bed with?!) and it can be used on pillows, doonas, pet bedding, kids toys and fabric furniture.

We use the Fresh Produce Wash to cleanse our fruit and vegies of any chemical residues, waxes, oils and bacteria.  It makes them taste even better and last even longer!

Even kids are looked after with a kid’s line of products, in kid sizes to encourage them to help around the house and make it fun.

There is also huge range of personal care products, many of which are organic and/or designed for reuse, to cut down on waste.  The Rescue Gel is amazing for relieving stress and sleeplessness. We love it.

Mixed kits of some of the products are available to get you up and running and saving you even more money.  We are working on changing a few things over each month in our home.  There are some great Christmas gift ideas too.
